Somerset Mental Wellbeing Service, formed by Compass Disability Services, Mind in Somerset
and Chardwatch C.I.C., are providing free Ways for Wellbeing courses to support people in Somerset who have low to moderate mental health difficulties.
The 16-week courses aim to develop confidence and empower people to take responsibility for their own wellbeing, and are suitable for those who are able to work in a small group and want to find their own potential and resources to support their own wellbeing:
develop your confidence and empower you to take responsibility for your own wellbeing
elevate mood and reduce feelings of isolation
explore the concept of “inner blue sky” and improve resilience
create relationships with your peers and gain understanding of how peers can provide you with ongoing support to maintain your wellbeing
learn how peer groups are a safe environment where people can have open and frank discussions about difficulties in life without fear of being judged
find out about your local community resources
The courses, which will be delivered via Zoom with a 2 hour session once a week, cover different areas of Somerset, ending with a course for people living in any area of Somerset: Mendip Mondays from 1st February - 7th June, 10.30am-12.30pm South Somerset Tuesdays from 13th April - 27th July, 10.30am-12.30pm Taunton and West Somerset Wednesdays from 14th April - 28th July, 10.30am-12.30pm Sedgemoor Thursdays from 10th June - 23rd September, 10.30am-12.30pm For people from any area of Somerset Tuesdays from 22nd June - 5th October, 10.30am-12.30pm
